Highschool research experience access 1x1
$1,500.00
This program enables participating student to publish a research paper to demonstrate proficiency in research and science for college admission.
Publishing a research paper will go a long way to convince a college about the dedication of an applicant. Most people who do so have family members with connections to laboratories. In this class we like to even the play field and provide broader access to more students.
This is a 1 x 1 research advisory with highly accomplished engineering expert with deep past experience. The advisor is IEEE fellow, have over 200 research papers in the past, and is considered expert in the field of semiconductor devices (http://www.linkedin.com/in/mems).
A student can start anytime. A first "get to know" session is free. Two more sessions are charged separately. Class charge will begin only after the 3rd session. The entire session last a year with at least one meeting a week. Additional meetings can happen online as needs or questions arise. THere is no limit to the hours of interactions, for fixed total charge.
Stembay provides or help arrange for high school STEM research opportunities. We provide topics in engineering, sensors, electrical engineering, biology, and computer.
Stembay match students up to exciting research projects, leading up to a published research paper. The students will have access to a number of topic areas including circuits, AI, and robotics. On most topics we will have internal advisor with PhD degree and research/publishing experience. Stembay has internel R&D units within our business unites. We also collaborate with Stanford, Berkeley, Northwestern University, and the University of Illinois.
The class will last six month, with one regular two hour meeting each week. Each student will be assigned an advisor. Students should ideally be stating in tenth grade of highschool.
Topics include:
1. Identification of a research topic, in the field of sensors, AI, engineering, and electronics
2. Conducting of research;
3. Preparation of research paper;
4. Submission and publicaiton. The paper can be single authored or coauthored.
A free consulting will be provided (call for appointments). Rolling starts applies for each individual participants. The participant and the advisor will meet at least once per week, covering a period of six months. The window for start is September 8, 2025. Fees cover upto $500 publication costs. If the journal publication fee is lower than 500 dollars the fee will be refunded. Additional publication cost is to be paid by the participant if the journal publication cost is higher.
Currently the advisor of the R&D department is Dr. Chang Liu. Dr. Liu is an accomplished educator, author, researcher, product developer, and industry entrepreneur. He has published over 200 academic research papers including IEEE journals and Proceedings of the National Academy of Science (PNAS).
Successful finisher receives one "Stembay science badge".
